Independent voters could make polling sites a nightmare

Independent voters could make polling sites a nightmare
By Marisa Schultz April 13, 2016

WASHINGTON — New York election officials are bracing for a mess at the polls because they expect many Bernie Sanders voters will show up who can’t vote.

“I’m going to predict that a lot of Sanders people who come from the ranks of independent voters are not actually registered Democrats and they will cause lines and waits at the poll sites while they attempt to vote affidavit ballots or obtain court orders to vote,” said John Conklin, a spokesman for the state Board of Elections.

Are independent voters going to cause havoc and disrupt democrats right to vote next week?

to get to the polls as soon as they open because I think there is going to be some kind of "operation chaos" going down to stop you from casting your vote!

Have all registered democrats line up in one line and everyone else in another. Have poll workers outside who direct people to the right line.

Registered democrat?
Go to the left to cast your ballot.

Registered independent?
Go to the right for an affidavit.

Not sure?
Go to the idiot line over there.

A NY official was on MSNBC and said there is no "Independent" choice on the voter registration, so they are called Blanks because they leave the party designation blank.

Calling them Independents gives them too much credit. In Iowa we call them No Parties.

Of course they will. I have even seen OPs on DU calling for them to do just that, e.g., request affidavit ballots, etc.

It may not only be independents who support Sanders, however, who cause havoc. There may also be independents who want to vote for GOP candidates. Who knows, there may even be some who want to vote for Hillary!
