NY exit polls show huge race gap, Sanders only won white men4/19/16 9:40pm by John Aravosis
Now that Hillary has won the New York primary, CNN has published its exit polling for the New York primary today, and its devastating to Bernie Sanders attempt to shake off the perception that hes the candidate of young white people.
In fact, CNNs data shows that it is in fact unfair to call Sanders the candidate of white people. Hes the candidate of white men.
Hillary Clinton won every other demographic, including white women, black men, black women and latino women. (CNN didnt have data for latino men.)

(28,270 posts)The Obama coalition rules and you can't get the nomination on the strength of white men alone any more.

(6,280 posts)... As one Bernie supporter put it in another thread, if it weren't for women and POC, Bernie would have won in a landslide.

(4,787 posts)the exit poll numbers in the article differ from what's on the CNN website. (The trends in the article are still the same.)
Here's one example:
It shows white women voted 56% to 44% for HRC. The article shows them voting for her at 50% to 49%, which doesn't really make any sense in liberal NY.

(2,577 posts)I have noticed that the most obnoxious and vehement Bernie supporters are white men, most of whom would not have their lives destroyed if the Rethugs swept in the fall. They could continue being "ideologically pure" and "right on the issues" as the safety net is shredded, women's rights disappear in a frenzy over the preciousness of the fetus, and the safety and salaries of workers is depressed.
The people who live in the real world are behind Hillary.
