Sanders supporters suffer through stages of griefThe New York loss demoralized some of Bernie's most impassioned backers.
By ANNIE KARNI 04/21/16 08:10 PM EDT
Bernie Sanders supporters are experiencing the five stages of grief after a devastating 16-point loss in New York Tuesday night, a drubbing that greatly narrowed the Vermont senators path moving forward.
After holding out hope, some are beginning to accept the disheartening notion that the Vermont senator is now unlikely to win the party's nomination.
It is over, Lee Stonum, an avid Sanders supporter and public defender in Orange County, California, wrote on his Facebook page after the New York results were tallied. Im a little annoyed by the tone of the emails Im now getting from the campaign that refuse to acknowledge this and claim there is still a path to the nomination. There is not.

(1,048 posts)I posted one really trying to not be snarky at all and got met with such nastiness. My Clinton 08 supporting friend jokingly said at the end of that campaign that she was still in the Anger stage of the 5 stages of grief. But my goodness there are some sensitive ass people on this site. Take the stick out.

(31,232 posts)Susan Sarandon said as much when she said something like...."Trump might not be so bad". His "supporters" won't allow him to give a full throated endorsement to Hillary, and they certainly will insist that he take it all the way to the convention.

(8,610 posts)It's only been two days, and truthfully, I think we are all a bit surprised how well Hillary did in New York. The polls don't look good for Bernie going into the other Mid-Atlantic States on the 26th; I suspect Bernie will see the light soon.

(33,512 posts)For some reason we're always last in the country.
Maybe it's because we haven't had a decent governor since Jim Florio was defeated by that dumb lady, Christie Whitman, um, like 20 years ago.
