The acquisitions stem from the FEC’s monthly campaign financial reports. In February, the Sanders campaign did, in fact, pay Devine Mulvey Longabaugh, Inc. $438,404.37 and then again in March the campaign paid $810,211.44. But this is not Tad Devine’s salary.

Devine Mulvey Longabaugh is a Democratic political consulting and media firm. The firm has worked on the campaigns of Al Gore, John Kerry, and Ted Kennedy.

The funds from the Sanders’ campaign were used for media production, political consulting, and strategic analysis. Just as every other campaign, Sanders had to pay a firm to help with campaign logistics.

Further research shows that Sanders’ combined payroll expenditures total just $2,172,460.38.
