Is Elizabeth Warren a red herring? Is she being an obvious distraction ...

... so that other meetings and other discussions regarding the VP selection process can take place without being so easily noticed?

Is Warren running interference so that all eyes are on her, while the real action happens elsewhere?

This is pretty obviously a well-coordinated effort on the Dem side, so it could also be a strategy session.

A story early in the week said Reed was lobbying for her. Just as likely Warren may be seriously considered.

Anyone she is talking to about the slot needs to know one thing: they WILL be the next VP.

I get a bad feeling about a Clinton/Warren ticket. And it's not Warren or Clinton. I guess I'm thinking we need a male, preferably minority - to reign in the left wing MRAs and other Bros as well as additional minority support.

the ability to be an attack dog for her, someone qualified with experience in elected office, a minority, leaning liberal, relatively young, someone who is diplomatic, and is someone Hillary trusts, respects, and likes. Don't know if there is one person who can do all that.

I don't see him as presidential, and I don't see him as an effective "attack dog" against Trump. Paul Ryan didn't know what hit him, when he debated Biden. Even if Hillary doesn't choose Elizabeth Warren, she needs someone with the intelligence and "fight" of Elizabeth Warren. That could be hard to find.

It's the white men who need to be able to choose between Trump/(Gingrich?) and Hillary/George Clooney. That would muddle their brains! They'd easily reject a women/minority ticket as "not us."

She has the minority vote already, and women.

groomed to be the next pres. If she thought it's really important, I'm liking Al Franken. He could match the Trump circus and he was the first Senator to endorse her. I doubt he has high ambitions, so the 2nd term could be more demographically/geographically strategic.

I've even wondered about Biden, They are very close but maybe that would be too weird?

Castro would be smart but he's so green (young/untried) Maybe in 2020. Cory Booker's awesome but probably only someone a liberal could love. Camilla Harris in CA is good, too.

...if I can't have George Clooney (everybody I mention him to says, "I'd vote for him!&quot .

I had never heard of Castro till recently. I've wondered about Biden, too -- he's widely admired and could criticize Trump with gravitas.

I had to write that.

I just love Joe. That smile. Those blue eyes. His gift of gab, and full of malarky.

He and President Obama have made a good, trusting team, & forged a lifetime friendship.

It would be nice for Hillary to have the same. I hope she chooses well.

I have a feeling she'll choose Tim Kaine.

I've seen some people here make the statement that Joe Biden's role was nearly ceremonial, and meaningless. But anybody who knows anything about Joe also knows that he was the point man on a lot of Obama's foreign policy meetings, and domestic policy initiatives with Congress. They worked together closely, and it shows.

It's unclear to me what the motive is of anyone who wants to denigrate and marginalize his role in this administration's successes. But it was certainly and demonstrably more than one that was merely "ceremonial". Obviously, anyone who says such things is just being an asshole.

"It's a fucking big deal!"

I would love to hang out with them. They are kind, & intelligent men. How I'd love to listen & ask questions of them both.

One more thing, as horrible as the Republicans in and out of Congress, our President remained strong & graceful. I believe Joe was instrumental in helping to ease some of those pressures as a friend & as a mediator between the two.

How I wish things could've been different and Joe could've run for POTUS. His speech the other night was awesome.

But, then again, I'm happy that Hillary is our nominee. She kicked ass before Planned Parenthood yesterday. I believe in every word she said.

And, then Elizabeth Warren! She is a treasure. An absolute treasure.

Sorry, I'm rambling.

I am woman, hear me roar.

You can be sure VP has already been picked, nothing haphazard about anything Hill does. VP slot is a big deal announcement. We lose all of that excitement and media time if it's Warren, who already peaked last week. Also, Warren can continue to get air play bombing Trump without being VP. Her endorsement and visibility already accomplished at least some of the uniting already, and will continue to do so.

If it's not going to be Warren, the decision should come from Warren. It will piss off a whole lot of people if it appears Hillary used Warren and then passed her by.

I have every confidence in her already. I'm eager to know who it will be.
