HRC: I'm "Outsider Candidate" Because I'm a Woman ("How come there are no girls on this placemat?")

When asked about the rise in outsider candidates, Hillary Clinton said on CBS’ Face the Nation that she is an outsider candidate because of her gender.

“In politics this year, it looks like everyone wants an outsider,” host John Dickerson noted. “Now that puts you in a fix.”

But Clinton disagreed. “I cannot imagine anyone being more of an outsider than the first woman president. Really, let’s think about that.”

“All these mothers and fathers bring me the place mats with all the presidents and they bring their daughters, and they say, ‘My daughter has a question for you.’ And the daughter says, ‘How come there are no girls on this place mat?’ I agree that is — that’s a pretty big unconventional choice.”

“But you know what I’m asking,” Dickerson said.

“I know you’re asking do we want people who have never been elected to anything, who have no political experience, who never made any hard choices in the public arena,” Clinton said. “Well, voters are going to have to decide that."

Really bugged me.

Be honest....your whole life has revolved around politics and your claiming to be an outsider?

What the hell would be wrong with just saying my experience and connections make me the best candidate?

That would be an honest answer and I could respect that.
