Boxer Calls On Speaker Boehner To Disband Benghazi Select Committee
Senator Calls Committee an Abuse of Taxpayer Funds, Citing Majority Leader McCarthy's Statement Boasting About the Committee Bringing Down Unbeatable Hillary Clinton's Poll Numbers

Wednesday, September 30th 2015

Washington, D.C. - Today, U.S. Senator Barbara Boxer (D-CA), the longest serving current member of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, called on House Speaker John Boehner (R-OH) to disband the House Select Committee on Benghazi after the stunning interview with House Majority Leader Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) in which he boasted that the Select Committee brought down "unbeatable" Hillary Clinton's poll numbers.

Senator Boxer called Boehner's attention to the quote by McCarthy last night:

"Everybody thought Hillary Clinton was unbeatable, right? But we put together a Benghazi special committee, a select committee. What are her numbers today? Her numbers are dropping."

Boxer asked Boehner to disband the Committee, which she called "a political smear campaign" and "an abuse of taxpayer funds."

Maybe he'll get rid of it. I'd like him to go out with a bang. He already kept the govt open. Now let's get rid of some other garbage.
