Look what the Dems on the Hill are doing? RIGHT ON!!! (HRCLINTON GROUP POST)

Democrats on the House Select Committee on Benghazi on Monday revealed portions of the transcript of previously secret testimony from a closed-door briefing with a former top aide to Hillary Clinton in an escalation of the partisan bickering on the panel.

The special committee’s five Democrats sent a letter to Chairman Trey Gowdy (R-S.C.) that included multiple quotes and snippets of conversation from former State Department official Cherly Mill’s nine-hour interview last month.

Additionally, the lawmakers warned Gowdy that they will release the full transcript of Mills’s testimony in the coming days unless they hear valid arguments to hold back.

“We believe it is time to begin releasing the transcripts of interviews conducted by the Select Committee in order to correct the public record after numerous inaccurate Republican leaks, and we plan to begin this process by releasing the full transcript of Ms. Mills’ interview,” the five Democratic lawmakers wrote.
“We have held off on taking such action for more than a year, but we will no longer sit and watch selective, out-of-context leaks continue to mischaracterize the testimony the Select Committee has received.”

Why is it that it's the GOP that does this kind of thing?

Over, and over, and over--it's their MO--they waste tax dollars that could be spent on roads, bridges, replenishing the money they stole from social security, etc.

They love to point fingers, accuse, stir the pot, tell lies, advance bullshit...it's disgraceful. I am so GLAD they are finally being called out on their bullshit.

Wonder if the media will cover this? If life is even remotely fair, this should build during the week and be a talking point for the Sunday shows--will they give THIS the hearing it deserves, I wonder?

and giving them fair warning - with documentation to back up their decision - for the "official record". If they didn't at least attempt to stick with using Robert's Rules of Order, then there would have been some true chaos and this government wouldn't have survived its first year, let alone a few hundred!

It's clear that Cummings is a master of Robert's Rules and he has continually crafted his responses to spotlight their required use in our form of government, else the government will fall.

I'm sure we all remember this little confrontation that eventually lead to the dumbass from California being kicked out of the chairmanship of the committee -

I think they get a couple benefits out of this beyond correcting the record - notably to highlight, once again, who the adults are in the room versus the GOP willingness to waste taxpayer money on nonsense (notably egregious misuse of this oversight committee which has now become a joke when under GOP control), and it sows mistrust in the main candidate running for the Speaker of the House position.

We have seen this committee essentially neutered by the GOP themselves due to their vindictiveness with "Fast and Furious", "Benghazi", and "IRS". Only thing is, after this Afghanistan hospital bombing, I expect more hearings so gotta brace yourself for more nonsense. They'll probably try to use that to distract from their past failures.

Mon Oct 5, 2015, 09:32 PM

about what could be in that hidden bit, you get people ruminating about how much taxpayer money was spent, you characterize the GOP negatively, you get a bunch of often anonymous people giving juicy little blurbs to reporters, teasing it out, and then you OWN a big piece of the Sunday talkers where righteous indignation reigns supreme.

This is as much about rolling out a smack-down as smacking 'em down.

Hell, they can get up in the morning and take turns reading the shit into the record during one minute speeches--now THAT would be fun to see!!! Attention getting, too....
