A new reason for me to not want Bernie in the White House is his supporters. Are they going to be his advisers? He says it isn't he who is going to change things but his followers. I see them as like toughs who want to enforce their ideals on people. It scares me. I never thought "progressives" could be so mean.

AUTOMATED MESSAGE: Results of your Jury Service
On Thu Oct 8, 2015, 04:04 AM an alert was sent on the following post:

Bigots will be bigots.
http://www.democraticunderground.com/?com=view_post&forum=1107&pid=20559

REASON FOR ALERT

This post is disruptive, hurtful, rude, insensitive, over-the-top, or otherwise inappropriate.

ALERTER'S COMMENTS

I don't see how to read this post other than saying that it's bigoted to openly disagree with John Lewis over his endorsement of Clinton. I'm tired of DUers and others being attacked as bigots for obvious and reasonable political differences, I hope that you are too.

You served on a randomly-selected Jury of DU members which reviewed this post. The review was completed at Thu Oct 8, 2015, 04:15 AM, and the Jury voted 0-7 to LEAVE IT.

Juror #1 voted to LEAVE IT ALONE
Explanation: Bad alert. This is about what is written on a politician's Facebook page. There is no reason that the poster can't give his opinion about it.
Juror #2 voted to LEAVE IT ALONE
Explanation: This is an Alert that is simply trolling to get hides from a Hillary supporter. The OP is correct to make the point that people are harassing anyone who simply endorses a Democratic candidate. John Lewis is AA. Some of those who attack the endorsement are bigots. Bigots will be bigots. The logic of the alerter is flawed to assume that EVERYONE is attacking DUers a bigots - and the behavior of alerting on this logic is most likely an unwarranted attack on a specific person - in fact a personal attack. The alerter should be banned.
Juror #3 voted to LEAVE IT ALONE
Explanation: No explanation given
Juror #4 voted to LEAVE IT ALONE
Explanation: No, not going to hide. Stop alert trolling, this has nothing to do with DU.
Juror #5 voted to LEAVE IT ALONE
Explanation: No explanation given
Juror #6 voted to LEAVE IT ALONE
Explanation: I visited the FB page in question... and didn't see the posting that this person may have seen. It's entirely possible that some comment on that page was offensive and therefore the response about the "bigots". I think its wrong to call people who respectfully disagree with his endorsement "bigots" in general. however I will let this comment stand simply because it may be an angry response to something someone wrote on fb that was out of bounds.
Juror #7 voted to LEAVE IT ALONE
Explanation: The post is referring to a FB page, right? I guess I don't see how that's attacking DUers.

Thank you very much for participating in our Jury system, and we hope you will be able to participate again in the future.

John Lewis abandoned Hillary and for some reason fully endorsed Obama in 2008.

I'm sure some quarters of DU were anticipating a similar outsider endorsement from the civil rights icon. This man who gave his blood and committed his life to standing up for others.

It would have been a game-changing endorsement - but seriously, would Rep. Lewis abandon his own Democratic Party to commit to someone who is still only considered an opportunist Democrat by many of us? Who spent most of his life running against and denouncing Democrats?

Please - it was never going to happen, Chafee!

He escaped his Brooklyn roots early in life, opting for the very homogenous enclaves of Vermont. That appears to be where his participation in Civil Rights began to wane.

John Lewis, a "Democrat", is not going to endorse an outsider, so BS & Chafee were never going to be an option. He has "Democratic" constituents to answer to. BS is polling in single digits with Af Am "Democrats" in GA. John Lewis obviously isn't impressed with BS, nor am I.
