Sanders dismisses the two state Iowa polls from last week.

I was looking over some tweets and came across the one where Sanders spoke about the 2 Iowa polls that showed 35-41 pts ahead for Hillary last week (see below). I had just listed to his interview (wide ranging but on the short side) interview on msnbc (see link--towards the end where Sanders talks about these polls). Sanders also said that he trusts the Des Moines Register poll -which had him 7pts from Hillary----as the gold Standard for Iowa-and dismissed the two State-wide polls)

skeptical of the first poll--such a big leap---but when the second one came out I thought--ok.....

Still, I would rather see her edge up more slowly--building momentum--over time till the Iowas caucus. Just me.

They are too good, but only because I wish she was just 20 points ahead because if she drops even a little bit the media and Bernie supporters will start up with the Hillary slipping in polls meme. I think that's why her campaign downplayed these. But that's just a small quibble. She will continue to do great.

Here's a closer look at the finer points within the results of the new Des Moines Register/Bloomberg Politics Iowa Poll. The survey of 402 likely Democratic caucusgoers was conducted Oct. 16-19 by Selzer & Co. of Des Moines. The margin of error is plus or minus 4.9 percentage points.
Hillary Clinton

This is a "mostly good poll for her," said J. Ann Selzer, the pollster for the Iowa Poll.

Chief rival Bernie Sanders is encroaching, but Clinton leads by 7 points, 48 percent to 41 percent.

She's stronger than Sanders with women, capturing the support of 48 percent of female likely Democratic caucusgoers, compared with 30 percent for Sanders.

I am sure that Hillary has pulled ahead substantially. I'm still waiting for the next couple of polls to shed more light on the race.
