Clinton Campaign Will Be About 'Better Life' for Everyday Americans, 'Fun' (HRC GROUP POST)

Last edited Sat Apr 11, 2015, 06:48 PM - Edit history (1)

http://www.bloomberg.com/politics/articles/2015-04-11/clinton-campaign-will-be-about-better-life-for-everyday-americans-fun-

great article...

Hillary Clinton’s campaign team gathered Saturday in Brooklyn for a prelaunch pep-talk from campaign manager Robby Mook, who discussed the “purpose and values” that will define the operation, which will be known as Hillary for America.

In a memo shared with attendees – who are technically volunteers until the campaign formally launches – Mook describes the 'purpose,' 'goal,' and 'guiding principles' of Clinton's imminent campaign, in terms that stand in stark relief to how Clinton's 2008 run panned out.

The campaign’s purpose is “to give every family, every small business, and every American a path to lasting prosperity,” according to the document, which was obtained by Bloomberg following an initial report by Politico. (The full text of the memo is included below.)

We Are Hillary for America

Our purpose: To give every family, every small business, and every American a path to lasting prosperity by electing Hillary Clinton the next President of the United States. This campaign is not about Hillary Clinton and not about us—it’s about the everyday Americans who are trying to build a better life for themselves and their families.

Our goal: For Hillary Clinton to earn a winning number of delegates to secure the Democratic nomination and win 270 electoral votes to become the 45th President of the United States.

Our guiding principles:

*We are a team: we are committed to helping each other succeed to deliver on our core purpose.

*We are a diverse, talented family: we work together, empower and respect each other, and have each other’s backs, especially our volunteers.

*We are disciplined: driven every day by strategy, not tactics or one offs. We know there will be tough days, but we will bounce back and get back to work. We take risks, always measuring with empirical data to establish best practices.

*We are humble: we take nothing for granted, we are never afraid to lose, we always out-compete and fight for every vote we can win. We know this campaign will be won on the ground, in states.

*We know the importance of having fun: we are all here because we want to work hard for a cause we believe in.

* We are open to a diverse range of views: When we disagree, it’s never personal. Once a decision is made, we execute it—together.

*We are responsible: we always remember and appreciate the generosity of millions of people who invest their time and resources in Hillary Clinton and in us.

*We are guided by Hillary’s bedrock values of hard work, service, fairness, and faith in the American Dream.

If HRC does announce, I hope she defines her campaign as specifically as possible on the issues before the GOP, the right wing media, and many Democrats also, do it for her.

I realize that for the GOP every question will have the word Benghazi in it, or the phrase "deleted emails". But most voters do not care about this type of Beltway gossip and just want to know how her candidacy will help them. And that, in my opinion, is how she should run.

Does not need to be said -- at all. Self evident. If she or any of her spokespeople push it, it will be a huge turn off and seen to pander to female electorate to vote for her based on that one characteristic.

Not a huge fan of hers, and fear she could even eventually lose to the Cheese Weasel, of all the idiots. LOTS of land mines for her to trip over, and accentuating her gender is one of them IMO.

The GOP and Koch money is going to saturate the airways. This won them Ohio, Michigan, Wisconsin, Georgia, etc. There are so many hateful groups and media pundits and they'll be tossing vitriol nonstop.

I've been disappointed that the team hasen't fired back on all of the BS being thrown at her. But maybe it's strategic, not spend money on what may die down?

You know, though, I get a rather skewed view of the electorate from reading DU. You'd think most Democratic voters hate her with the blazing heat of a million suns or something.

Of course, some may not be what they purport to be, or may not know they are no longer in the Democratic Party. They are more excited about Libertarian heros and viewpoints than what Democrats care most about.

Some healing is needed between Obama and Hillary supporters from 2008. Obama and Hillary get along well, and the rifts some imagine or what to carry to the polls don't really exist in real life.

I'm looking forward to a video of her actual announcement. Please post it or tell me where you think it might be, okay?

I'll spread the video if there is going to be one.

...I have no problem voting for Mrs. Clinton. I think it's disrespectful to call her by her first name. No one calls the pukes by their first name, no Rand, Scott, Jeb... it's Paul, Walker and Bush.

I’m Ready for Hillary By Howard Dean

http://www.democraticunderground.com/11071307

Oh, and as around here we say:

In the immortal words of EarlG, FUCK RON PAUL!"

In the immortal words of William769, FUCK RAND PAUL!".

Nuff said.

http://www.democraticunderground.com/10025452073#post17

We also don't 'Stand with Rand', (and he doesn't object as it's one his slogans) on his national RTW and personhood laws, nor his poor killing actions and bigotry, nor his craven attention getting. This is the guy who said defaulting on the debt (turning T-bills into junk bonds) could be framed as reasonable:

http://www.democraticunderground.com/10023822515

I'm in no trouble with the HRC group, neither are those who call her by 'Ms.' or 'Hillary.' At DU we often refer to Bush as Jeb, etc. Read the TOS to find out what DU is about, if you have a moment:

http://www.democraticunderground.com/?com=termsofservice

It's not an issue, but I appreciate your concern for such niceties. Or is your concern for Republicans?

We call by their first names and a lot of other things. DUers think they should be tossed from office, if not jailed. Hillary has chewed them up and spit them out already:

Personally that one never gets old with me. BTW: Feel free to contact Hillary's campaign office about this:

upset that Hillary was referred to as 'Ms.' instead of his preference, 'SoS' or 'Senator.'

I don't want to be contentious here, but there was nothing of the substance of my post or the OP mentioned, just a name?

And I just got out of GD. Ugh.

They wanted people to think of Hillary as a distinct person, not as Bill's appendage. The intent was not to be disrespectful. Although I do think that the media constantly addressing her as Hillary could be interpreted as being sexist since the men are addressed by their last names.

Of course no one should personally call her Hillary when speaking to her, unless they know her well enough to do so.
