This is a wonderful story with an update on the "darer."

"I think she was like the volleyball or basketball captain. I came up and shook her hand," Clinton recalled. "She leaned over to me and she said, 'Dare to compete, Mrs Clinton, dare to compete.' And I thought, 'Wow.'"
Clinton has told this story many times over the years, including in her autobiography, Living History.
"Her comment caught me off guard, so much so that I left the event and began to think: Could I be afraid to do something I had urged countless other women to do?" Clinton wrote. "Maybe I should 'dare to compete.'"

(15,349 posts)this forum because I knew that many of the "usual suspects" would use it as an opportunity to take a piss all over it - just as they did when it was posted later in another forum. Thanks for responding!
I am now at the point that I have so many people on "Ignore" that I actually forget who they are. Unfortunately, I keep seeing their posts on the Home page, which is one feature of DU that is unfortunate, IMO. Occasionally I even "Like" an OP that is about an issue other than the Dem primaries. And then I remember ... LOL.
I sincerely hope once the primaries are over - or even before - that I can "un-Ignore" some long-time DUers who seem to have temporarily lost their minds in their passion for their candidate.
I certainly can understand why they feel strongly and the other candidates are great ones. Ours is just a better one, all-round, IMHO. I can understand differences in issues, stands, preferences, or emphases. But what I can't understand - or forgive right now - is the need for anyone on DU to use GOPer sneers, snark, smears, or conspiracy theories against ANY Dem in this VERY important election.
