Bernie Sanders' Campaign Is Concerned About the 'Berniebro,' As They Maybe Should Be

An illuminating and insightful thread at Jezebel.com's "The Slot", by Joanna Rothkopf;

http://theslot.jezebel.com/bernie-sanders-campaign-is-concerned-about-the-berniebr-1755911898

If you disrespect Bernie Sanders, you’re going to get a visit from his social media goons. They are passionate about campaign finance reform, staying active in one’s 70s, and being very, very manly.

A comment on the original piece found at the Atlantic; Here Comes the Berniebro (Robinson Meyer)

And one excellent excerpt from the comments section sums it up for me;

Bernie bros are just Rand Paul bros with a liberal arts education.

waking up to the fact that these idiots are hurting Sanders? Took them long enough, but I think it's too late now. Shoulda nipped it in the bud at the very first sexist and/or threatening post.

I wouldn't want to be an O'Malley or undecided caucus goer right now. I hope they get the message from the top and stay civil.

Bernie has based his whole candidacy on the idea that these same thugs will bully Congress into doing what President Sanders demands.

Online poll clickers: Sanders supporters.
Traditional poll participants: Underrepresented Sanders supporters.
Rally attendees: Sanders supporters.
Social media tyrants: Right-wing poseurs.

I've read it a dozen times today alone, so it must be true.

they don't seem to like the attention that comes with the critical scrutiny of his promises. They complained that there was a conspiracy to ignore Bernie, now they complain because the coverage is not always positive for Bernie.

Thought something was wrong with me. Could not understand the Bernie Sanders' supporters and their troll-ish behavior. Could expect from Trump supporters! Trump is after a all a huuuuuge orange troll. but Bernie, him I almost love. Just believe in my choice of HRC as the better choice for me (and America)

And the damage is already done. They only got concerned when the online attacks of PP and HRC started to get noticed and it started hurting poll numbers. That post is dated 1/25, and it started at least six months ago.

I got swarmed so badly one time for posting a pro-Hilary link with only pro-Hilary tags that I thought I was going to have to take my Twitter account private for a period of time. Let me repeat, there was no anti-Sanders talk. I was not trolling their hashtags. It was a purely positive post about the candidate that I support. I have been posting political smack on Twitter since forever and maybe blocked three trolls in that entire time. I blocked 30 Sanders trolls in two hours. And they keep coming back if you don't block every single one. Sigh..... The ones on Twitter can dish it, but they sure can't take it, that is for sure
