Clinton Cash's Peter Schweizer Pushes Stat That Even Fox News Calls "Incredibly Misleading"

HILLARY CLINTON ROOM

ERIC HANANOKI

Peter Schweizer, whose book Clinton Cash has been criticized for numerous errors and for reading "like a hatchet job," is now claiming the Clinton Foundation gives just "10 percent" of its budget "to other charitable organizations, the rest they keep for themselves." But Schweizer's cherry-picked statistic is so deceptive that even Fox News called it "incredibly misleading."

During a recent appearance with radio host Bill Bennett, Schweizer attacked the Clinton Foundation for giving the impression that they do "hands-on" work in developing countries when "they only give about 10 percent of their income to other charitable groups." Bennett replied with shock, asking Schweizer: "You're telling me 10 percent goes to the recipients?" Schweizer replied: "Yeah, 10 percent is what they give to other charitable organizations, the rest they keep for themselves."

It's quite possible that the foundation only passes 10% of it's assets to other 501(c)3 organizations. That doesn't mean 90% is "for themselves". It means that 90% is used to directly by the foundation to deliver services to those in need. They probably keep 6-8% of operations, 10% to other 501(c)3 organiaations and then 82% to charitable uses.

This is the usual rw bullchit - take an ounce of factual truth and spin a bs story to go with it that has nothing to do with the fact.

show and then right into another rant. I would think Scarborough would get smarter than continuing the RW and FOX talking point but he does not show he can forget what he hears on the shows. Now I wonder if he now realize even FOX is not believing Schweizer. Give him up, throw him under the bus, the truth is not in him.

not allow a guest to talk and continue to say he wants to make his point, it is annoying.

7. right.. the 10% number is donations to other charities, however

70% is given directly to people or other projects.
The true operating costs is 20% which is considered to be a good number.

with total BS their trademark. They are very good it. They rarely give any group nor person any props for doing good work, the Lord's work, unless its them (which is rare). These people are the farthest from JC's teachings.
