Agree or disagree: time for us here in the HRC group to follow Clinton's lead and pivot to the GE

If you've followed her statements, appearances, etc it is clear Clinton has been focusing on the Republicans, primarily Trump, since SC. She is getting ready for the GE fight, and there is no way at all, after tonight, that will change.

I'm getting to that point myself, too. It just doesn't seem worth it anymore to get down and dirty with some of the shit that is posted here on DU about our candidate. I've stopped posting polls, polling analyses, predictive market results, etc in GDP because it doesn't matter anymore. Statistically, I'm so confident in Clinton's nomination that I see no reason in trying to explain the numbers.

I'm sure I'll still do some of that here, but I find myself thinking a lot more about the GE campaign and what can be done before the convention to help get things well and truly started.

So I'm following Hillary's lead. She is still campaigning hard for every delegate, but her message has begun to focus on how she is different from Trump than from Sanders. It is time, for me at least, to do the same. Time to start putting energy into the next phase of the election and letting go of the DU madness.

Time to start thinking Clinton/Castro in November.

Edit: I'm not saying to ignore the primaries, but that the message should change. It is not about us vs them with Bernie supporters anymore; it is about sanity vs insanity with the Republicans.

The american voters will decide our nominee and most likely it will be hillary....the real fight comes after the convention when we all must insure america does not fall into conservative hands and we take the Congress back as well

It is not about how Clinton compared to Sanders anymore, it is about how Clinton compares to Trump. She is making that change now as the established frontrunner. I see very little evidence that it will harm her primary chances to talk Republicans instead of Democrats.

Yes, we can take some of the heat off Sanders if tonight goes well--even most of it if tonight is stellar (and it could be).

However, focus on one prize at a time. We have ages yet to work on Trump, and he's a pretty easy target. Clinton does move into slightly less favorable territory later this month and I wouldn't mind shifting that a little more in her favor before ignoring Sanders.

It is clear that Sanders and his supporters are more concerned with attacking the Democratic party than they are with the Republicans. I know that the Democratic party is more mature than that. The last time some people didn't care about beating the Republicans, but instead focused on purity tests and voting out of spite, we got Bush and all the world suffered for it. Obama has used the last 8 years to rebuild the country, and he has managed a fragile progress. Now we need to make sure that Trump doesn't get elected by angry voters who'd cut off their noses to spite their faces.

So, lets start focusing on teaching independents the positive sides of Clinton - we are experts there, after all, and also contrasting her experience, her stateswomanship, her ability to focus under fire with Trump's petulant, self-interested, boorish lack of substance.

I REFUSE to let people call HRC supporters "insane" or "ignorant" because of whom we support for president. Also all the 'revolution" BULLSHIT is a direct insult at PBO, one of the greatest presidents in my lifetime. Maybe all the alert trolling and hide swarming has my back up, but while I have a voice I will continue to do so.

Also Trump is never gonna be president no matter what we or the campaign does. The handwriting on the wall is in capslock for that one. He is a bully and a coward and thin skinned. The vetting will destroy him.
