No, it is not a badge of honor.

When you turn back into the gunfire and risk your own life and limb against an overwhelming enemy in order to save your squad, that's brave. Heroic, even. You've earned your medal of honor. But when you turn back into the gunfire with the intention of earning the Congressional Medal of Honor, that's not honorable. That's not heroic. That's self-serving and pathetic.

Similarly, when you disrupt an event to spread a message, knowing full well you will be ejected for it, you might feel good about it, like you've accomplished something -- but you cannot claim the ejection as a badge of honor. You knew going in that it was going to happen. You've factored it in, as part of the "cost of doing business." And, except for being unable to further participate in a community in which you have no business anyway, your life is unaffected by the ejection.

The fellow who came in here and posted a long pro-Bernie, anti-Hillary screed knew full well that he would be blocked from the Hillary group for doing it. That happened, and he went back to the Bernie group and claimed it as a badge of honor. Nothing could be further from the truth. True honor is not looked for, not sought. True bravery is not taking a risk of a minor social inconvenience. Last night I went into the Bernie group and congratulated them on winning Oklahoma; the response, while sparse, was quite gracious. If I had gone in there to disrupt, with the full knowledge that I would be ejected, it would be pathetic for me to claim the ejection as a badge of honor; it would be self-serving of me.

For my own part, I would love to share with them in their own enclave why Hillary is by far the best candidate in the field -- but I don't, because I respect the community rules, including the statement of purpose that the Bernie community chose to adopt for themselves, just as I expect them to respect ours. When that respect obtains, on either side, that may (or may not) be a form of honor. When it is violated, it is dishonorable. Full stop.

This disruptor probably isn't ashamed of himself, but he should be.

EDITED TO ADD: The same goes with those who add their numbers on the Hillary group block list to their signatures, treating it like a status symbol. It is no such thing. And if your block list is a third the size of ours, maybe it's because we have only a third the number of nitwits? Just a thought.

the first thing I thought was here is somebody trying to desperately to be one of the gang and fit in with the BS crowd. Hopefully, he got his got his "street creds" and is now a happy sneering camper.

are a bunch of juveniles who actually believe that The Southern states don't count because they were part of the Confederacy and so the votes of millions of African-Americans are not important. There are good BS supporters on DU, too. Some have come onto our group page and congratulated us or told us that they will be for Hillary if she's the nominee, but it seems like the big percentage of his supporters here give his supporters a bad name and it has been commented on other than here, but on other sites and in the media.

The list is long of the various people and groups who have been discarded or heavily insulted for their support of HRC or lukewarm support for Sanders.

Juvenile, indeed!

They taunt and brag about it.

The fact of the matter is this group is a magnet for all sorts of trolls, disruptors, and losers of all stripes.

I wonder just how many blocked posters here have been banned from DU?

the other fact is: after the primary is over, all these posters that have signed up in the last month or two will be gone. Most likely for the TOS violation of not supporting the Dem candidate. So badge of honor boy here will be PPR'd, I'd bet on it.

Then they can take that badge of honor back to Free Republic and brag about it

And I am a big Bernie fan and don't particularly like Hillary. But what I speak about Bernie, I speak positively about why I like him. I don't bash Hillary, because win, lose or draw, come November, I will absolutely and positively be voting Blue all the way. Democrats bashing Hillary or Bernie or vowing to sit out the election if their candidate doesn't win the nomination is sort of like arguing over whether you want roast beef or roast pork when the alternative is drinking a quart of Round-Up with a Drano chaser.

Now, buckle down and GOTV in November!!

if it's the guy I'm thinking of, his points were stupid and his appearance here was stupid and pointless.

But let's steer clear of the military imagery - this is just a message board, nothing more, nothing less.
