Hillary Clinton

"HRC supporters are all low information voters". The condescension continues to shape shift into new insults. They wonder why they can't get many new converts. Nothing but negativity and anger.

(30,058 posts)and I might add I have lots of information about her record and know she is the most qualified candidate running. So much for low information.

That should have zero tolerance on a monitored website.

(7,272 posts)Not all of us think that or are even letting that slide. That being said there is good on the Sanders side also and it is not good to lump anyone together.

(4,507 posts)and I stand where I stand.
I don't want to list out my cv, but it's not insubstantial, I worked on the '08 campaign, and I am extremely politically engaged. It would be so deeply insulting if it weren't so comical. It's like some of your supporters know a thing or two but haven't taken it to the next step which is an informed and withering self-examination to determine just how reflective your own views are of any broader constituency.
I think maybe you misunderstood what I said.

(4,507 posts)and just trying to explain to you - as one who seems rational enough - just why some of us are so insulted by the disrespect that has been directed our way by other supporters of your candidate.
I am insulted by it myself so I get it. Kind of thought that was understood though.
I'm just trying to convey how visceral it is for some of us.
I aim to be deeply thoughtful about my politics and my political calculations. So to find that, just because I arrive at a different conclusion than the current dominant group on this site, that for that reason I am condescended to by people who haven't contributed what I've contributed, haven't sacrificed what I've sacrificed, haven't put in the work to really game play everything out - it's just so crazy.

(7,272 posts)I'm for sanders but I think Clinton is fine. No group for that, lol. Thanks for the conversation, I appreciate it and keep on working for what you believe.
and eventually someone's going to have to try to bring some healing to this place.
Personally, although it's far from over, I feel like there are potentially lessons for us all to draw out of the final story of the Democratic race. Depends on how it plays out, but my sense is that there have been a lot of assumptions which really fared poorly under first the crucible of more analytical thinking and then under the ultimate crucible of reality.

(1,728 posts)first it was because I made to much money even though I work 90 hours a week. Then it was I am only voting for her because she is a woman. Now it's because I am an ignorant southerner. Got it.

(1,968 posts)My first experience with a Sanders supporter some months ago involved being told that if I simply analyzed his record, I would change my mind.
(The implication being that I was a low information voter, of course).
She didn't respond well when I told her I had done so and found him severely wanting. That's when the name-calling started.
Regrettably, statistically speaking, my average interaction with them has actually gotten worse as time goes on and Sanders' path to the nomination fades and gutters out.
I'm sure GD and GD-P would be even worse if reality had set in at this point, but it looks like they're wavering between Denial and Anger tempered by an admix of hope that he'll dominate every single future primary and caucus.
Expect that to get worse after this weekend, which will be good for Bernie, and an explosion to start on Tuesday, March 8th. That won't stop until well after the 15th. Be cautious.

"low information voters" couldn't be further from the truth.
