Biden will campaign with Murphy later this month

President Barack Obama and Vice President Joe Biden announced Wednesday that they are endorsing U.S. Rep. Patrick Murphy for the Democratic nomination for U.S. Senate.

Biden will also campaign with Murphy, D-Jupiter, on March 28 in South Florida.

The move is a blow to U.S. Rep. Alan Grayson, D-Orlando, Murphy's main rival for the Democratic nomination to succeed outgoing U.S. Sen. Marco Rubio.

"I am proud to endorse Congressman Patrick Murphy for the United States Senate," Obama said in a statement.

"Patrick has been a tireless champion for middle-class families and a defender of the economic progress that American workers and businesses have made," Obama said. "Floridians can count on Patrick Murphy to stand up for them every day as their next Senator."

Biden called Murphy "a leader who knows what's important: growing our economy from the middle class out, helping families put food on the table and save a little for the future. Patrick Murphy has the progressive values, the work ethic, and the youthful energy the U.S. Senate needs."

Murphy said that he, Obama and Biden "share the same values and commitment — strengthening Social Security and Medicare for our seniors, protecting a woman's right to choose, and growing America’s middle class."

"I am humbled and proud to receive their endorsement and campaign shoulder-to-shoulder with them for what we believe in,” Murphy said.

More details on Biden's campaign appearance with Murphy will be announced later.

I know he posts once in a while on DU but I've always felt Grayson is a bit of a flake.

And, I am, quite frankly, disgusted with Grayson over his divorce drama and how inappropriate he has been to his wife and children.

That behavior would absolutely have sunk Grayson imo.
