Progressives begin shifting focus from supporting Bernie Sanders to beating Donald Trump

Sen. Bernie Sanders speaks at a campaign stop Wednesday in Portland, Maine.

After Hillary Clinton built a commanding advantage in the Democratic race on Super Tuesday, some liberal forces that had been more sympathetic to Bernie Sanders appear ready to line up behind Clinton with an eye to the bigger looming challenge: Donald Trump.

Though voters in dozens of states have yet to cast ballots and Sanders has amassed a significant campaign war chest on the strength of his grass-roots appeal, Democrats appear more eager than ever to close ranks at a time when Republican divisions are only deepening.

Even as Clinton was sweeping to victory in delegate-rich states Tuesday, building an advantage Sanders is increasingly unlikely to reverse, some progressive groups began to realign their messages.

MoveOn.org, which has formally endorsed Sanders, spent as much of its statement on Tuesday’s primaries warning about the threat posed by Trump as it did praising the potency of Sanders' message.....................

I will always like Bernie. but Hillary Clinton is our Nominee. i do hope the young Sanders supporters show as much enthusiasm for Hillary...

I do not agree Trump will not win the republican side you saw super tuesday how close it was besides Alabama. Trump will lose Ohio and Florida Winner take all states ..and will lose most other states.. Delegate count will not be in his favor in the end.
I know NBC is pushing this crazy scenario its fine but not the likely outcome. I could see trump leaving the republican Party and run as independent due to a close count .. .
Chris Christie will have to return to Law in some faction. His Political career is now Over. Very premature decision by him.

Republican voters have again exposed their true nature.

Insert any candidate, won't be any different.

This is ideological warfare. This is good vs. evil.

Oh - and the Supreme Court justices!

republican voters do it all of the time ..Cruz went to the top of a large field of 13 or 14 candidate's with The "President Obama Say it to my Face" comment.
Its like the base is watching a Tv show. Reacting to the drama. but shows get old Trump saying the same thing over and over again will get old even to them. The Republican establishment is starting to be effective. tuesday Trump won a couple states by very little. this will snow ball Trump will lose.... the big ? is who will be the Republican Nominee.

"Clinton would be vulnerable in a campaign against Trump, campaign manager Jeff Weaver warned. He referenced polls that show voters have doubts about Clinton’s honesty.

Integrity will be a key issue in the campaign, Weaver said, adding, “You never get to your message if you're always trying to convince people you're honest.”
