with other world leaders and he starts that finger wagging and interrupting.

Wonder how that would go over with Merkel, Putin, etc.

6. His expression
Mon Mar 7, 2016, 01:00 PM
Mar 2016

His expression when the crowd reacted negatively (though you can hear some applause) was interesting. He looked genuinely surprised by the audience reaction. He had that same look on his face after the crowd booed him for saying "You aren't president yet!" in another debate.

just as he continues to repeat over and over about the IWR, Hillary took responsibility for that vote, give me incidences where Sanders takes responsibility for his five votes against the Brady Bill, the Crime Bill, it is his record.

Every position Hillary took and every vote she cast was the direct causation of all the bad things to ever happened on this planet!

But Bernie can explain what each position and vote he made really meant.

Another double standard.

So convenient for his supporters who are Hillary haters, because she has one vote she can be hammered on until Doomsday, while Bernie is (mumblemumble) never wrong.

18. Voting record
Mon Mar 7, 2016, 02:27 PM
Mar 2016

The folks I watched the debate with last night commented on how he tried to have it both ways on his record. He dinged Clinton for voting for compromised bills, but wouldn't admit that he'd done the same thing. Every politician is going to have strengths and weaknesses in their voting record, especially one who's been in Congress as long as he's been. But I think he's so caught up in his own ideological purity on Wall Street that that comeback about the auto industry bailout, which she'd clearly been saving, almost seemed to catch him by surprise.

I also noted that he pretty much handed the GOP soundbites against the Democratic party to use in the GE. I'm also not sure how I felt about his comment that he is the only presidential candidate with the civil rights movement on his resume. I think that would go down a little easier if it wasn't just a few years of activity 50 years ago. It just seemed disingenuous to me, but maybe it didn't bother anyone else.

He spends a lot of time in the past. That really stood out to me last night.

The industry was in desperate straits in 2008-9, and the Michigan economy, jobs, etc., were highly dependent on it.

If he truly was surprised, he is showing himself to be even more narrow in his awareness than I realized. How can he not know what the critical issues are in each state in which he is running? Doesn't he have aides and advisers to help prepare him?

He should have been prepared to explain his reasoning calmly, and without anger--knowing that no matter what he said, many in the audience would disapprove because when the rubber hit the road, he did not vote to support something they wanted supported.

Mon Mar 7, 2016, 03:59 PM

Wall Street isn't just billionaires Bernie. If one has an IRA or a 401K they are invested in Wall Street. Are you suggesting seniors should eat dog food?

Understand I am not giving them a free pass. There needs to be regulation. Dodd/Frank was a good move. I'm just tired of Sanders laying every problem in this country at the feet of Wall Street. Things are more complex than that.
