"Sorry, Bernie Bros, delegate math not adding up for Sanders" (Clinton Group)

http://www.al.com/opinion/index.ssf/2016/03/sorry_bernie_bros_delegate_mat.html

NOTE TO ALERTERS: The title of the article has "Bernie Bros" in it.

I've often wondered whether it hurts more as a candidate to get beaten by one vote or by a landslide. It's like if the University of Alabama ever manned up and played UAB. If you were a Blazer, which would be worse, to get shutout by the Crimson Tide, or lose by a field goal in overtime? Yeah, it's easy to say that the nailbiter would be some sort of moral victory, but that's not the way the close ones feel in the moment.

That's where Sen. Bernie Sanders and his supporters are right now. He's outkicked his coverage. Someone who was supposed to be an also-ran, who was doing this to make a political point, for a moment appeared to be within striking distance. But Hillary just split the uprights. I try my best never to say there's a 100 percent or zero percent chance of anything, but it's hard to see how Sanders has any path to victory now. But try explaining that to Sanders' supporters. I feel for them. I do. But here's the facts about where things are right now.

{snip}

However, it's also time for Sanders' supporters to begin preparing themselves for a gentle landing and not try to kneecap the Democrats for the sake of making a point, the same way Ralph Nader gave the country George W. Bush. It's time for them to come to terms with what's at stake, and not risk losing it all over losing a little.

Politics is about compromise, not sabotage. That's the sort of thing a Trump supporter would do.

Let's get Mrs. Clinton in office and move forward. Good lord, this is all insane.

Thanks to President Obama and Sec. Clinton for remaining the only adults in the room. I don't know how they've stopped themselves from just running out of the romper room screaming.

I find this one part over the top and just a little cruel.

UAB and Alabama Crimson Tide? I don't think I would have gone there!

An excellent article and I find it interesting that Kyle Whitmire, the author of the piece, refers to the UAB/Universtity of Alabama situation. Everyone in Birmingham understands that comparison completely.

I am a huge UAB fan and as you might have heard our "masters" the University of Alabama Board of Trustees and their assassin, Ray Watts, who they installed as our president, did their best to shut down our UAB football program. They were afraid that it would someday in the future UAB would dare to challenge "THE UNIVERSITY" of Aloabama for football supremacy in the state of Alabama. (As if that was ever going to happen.) If there was ever a present day Cain and Able story of of a big brother trying to kill off his little brother, this was it. Absolutely sickening! We fought long and hard and forced them to give our program back.

Some day hopefully someone will write a book on the subject. It would make a great movie; David overcomes Goliath, good and persistence victorious over pure evil.
