The poster is full of hate and ignorant of history; his tag line says it all.
The best thing to do is not read their posts and enjoy your life - do a good deed, take a walk, have a glass of wine, pet your dog, kiss your partner, and work to elect Hillary. Works for me and maybe it will work for you.

The jury system has been thoroughly gamed. Pity the guy that owns this site has little interest in moderating the attacks on actual Democrats and their supporters. I guess he must also be a big raised fist Bernie supporter.

His seems to believe that this is all just primary "noise" and that the vast number of Sanders supporters will come back to the fold after the nomination is secured.

That may have been true in the past. While I was not involved in the rather vicious primary disputes that I understand occurred in 2008, I shifted seamlessly from supporting Hillary to supporting Barack by donating my time and money when Hillary dropped out of the race.

Again, I wasn't here in 2008, but this feels different to me. My impression is that many of the most fervent and disruptive Sanders supporters are only here because of a once in their lifetime to support a true socialist candidate seems to have a legitimate shot at becoming the nominee of a major party. I suspect that most of those people won't support Hillary when she secures the nomination and never had any intention of doing so.

It also seems like some of the current acrimony of these people has rubbed off on some DU veterans with many thousands of posts behind their name. They also treat Sanders like "the anointed one" who is past due for his halo. I think it will be very difficult for these people who seem to have convinced themselves that Hillary is "evil", to accept her has their nominee.

I joined up early in 2008 - I don't remember the atmosphere around here ever getting anywhere near as polarized and vile as it is now. The number of racist, sexist, and threatening posts bordering on cyber bullying these days is simply stunning - especially for a site that austensibly champions Democratic values and ideals. I do remember Skinner issuing warnings and having a more direct role in keeping the discussion at least civil back in 2008. That is sorely lacking today. Let me suggest that waiting until the primaries are over may just be too late.

But, who knows? He may be right - after all it's his site that's being turned into a sewer. If he wants to risk the possibility of this place being irrevocably broken by its users I suppose that's his business... Literally.

But nothing like this. I hardly ever visit DU anymore, and although I prefer Bernie's positions, it PAINS ME to see this blatant misogyny that masquerades as being anti Hillary. I think that the jury systems has real faults, and the acceptance of bashing women on DU is one casualty of it's failings.

I do not know how she can put up with the hatred, it really pulls me down into a sad place. I should not take it personally, but I indeed do.

I continue to point out to my friends that Bernie himself is not behaving in this way- why are they? But they seem crazed and frenzied.

Anyway, I find the whole thing really upsetting.

to insults being exchanged, which will make it more difficult when a nominee is selected to bring everyone back together, and I am sure for some that won't occur

Last evening I asked my son and son-in-law what they thought about the whole thing and their response was as level-headed as some of the best ones here.

They winced at the words (I wouldn't even describe it as something that reached the level of "disappointment" or being "irked&quot but were glad to see Hillary's unqualified apology. Their support of Hillary remains unchanged.

The over-the-top reactions displayed here was a "blood-in-the-water" frenzy ... but nobody got managed to get a bite. I'd go further and suggest that in their frantic efforts to get a bite of Hillary, they ended up doing more damage to themselves.
