debate night: Sanders names Inhoffe?

"Sanders, when pressed, says the name of a Republican he likes: Jim Inhofe!"

"That's the unspeakable bastard who pushed the death penalty for LGBT's in Uganda. And Bernie likes him? He's a monster! "
WTH?

What's there to like about Inhoffe? His record & ideology is counter to human rights & the Democratic Party.

Inhofe is owned by Conoco-Phillips.

ETA: I knew Inhofe when he was in the Oklahoma legislature. He is truly one of the most boring and stupid jerks I have ever known. Also, he had an affair with a good friend of mine. Then he left her for a much younger mistress.

The Congressional Record on the Auto Bailout. Sanders Co-Sponsored Inhofe's bill to Block Funds

Congressional Record, December 11, 2008 - Inhofe (R-OK) gave a special shout-out to Bernie Sanders for co-sponsoring his bill to block the Auto Bailout along with the right wing Senators pictured above.

Sanders likes him because they both thought the Auto Industry should go bankrupt.

33. If you actually watched it..
Mon Mar 14, 2016, 01:17 AM
Mar 2016

It was a pretty interesting answer... if you watched.

Sanders was asked to name a Republican he felt some friendship with, to show that he had some ability to reach across the aisle.

Sanders said he didn't really want to answer, because anybody he named in the Republican party as someone he could work with, would probably not keep their job for long in current climate. After some long pauses, he finally picked Inhoffe and basicly said he doesn't agree with him on anything, but that he likes him as a human being.

So... I suppose one could deduct that he didn't actually mind too much if Inhofe lost his job! Or he felt it was safe to burn that bridge?

Anybody interpreting his answer as meaning he respected Inhoffe's opinions or positions, is missing the boat.

Bernie didn't just vote against the auto bailout, he co-sponsored the bill!

Every one of them is RW big money, Wall St big oil fat cats, big fracking, zero pro-environment.

Now WHY didn't these RWers want the auto bailout to go through again?

That's the most disgusting group of hard core RWers to align with.

This is the wrong group to be defending bernie's bailout vote to..he co-sponsored the bill.

I might by open to your 9th dimensional chess scenario if Sanders did not go out of his way to praise that neanderthal as a "decent guy" and "good people."

So Inhoffe is his friend, but apparently no Democratic Senators are--certainly none endorsed him.

If you're such good "friends," Bernie, why couldn't you talk him out of being a climate change denier? Or just ONE of the myriad abhorant positions that neanderthal holds?!
