Sanders voters despise Clinton. That was their whole point.

Don't use the VP as a substitute for the Warren presidency the Hillary haters wanted before.

Kennedy and Johnson hated each other, but they came together to win in 1960. Obama and Clinton ran tough campaigns against each other in 2008, but they came together.

Brining Warren onto the ticket heals wounds and makes for a powerhouse ticket.

This doesn't boil down to policy differences or approach (like Kennedy v Johnson), this is about ending blatant corruption in our government. This is about supporting a candidate with integrity over one who puts their personal interests and the interests of corporate America over the American people.

Two women from the same region of the country doesn't do much for diversity. And I'd much rather see Warren in the Senate kicking bum.

-all to enhance the chances of winning the general. While ideologies might be relevant, I'm not convinced there really are broad ideological differences between those two. Both are liberal and pragmatic.

With Hillary being from NY, and after her win in MA, someone from another part of the country would be a better vote getter.

Likewise, a minority pick and even gender diversity might open up a broader pool of votes.
