Pro-Democratic groups are launching an orchestrated bid to weaken GOP presidential front-runner Donald Trump ahead of a potential November showdown with Hillary Clinton, while her campaign readies a strategy of engaging the billionaire businessman on issues without trading insults.
A coalition of 22 liberal groupsincluding some that have endorsed Mrs. Clinton and others that back her Democratic rival, Sen. Bernie Sandershave united behind a campaign to stop Mr. Trump.
Among their plans: anti-Trump demonstrations, possibly including protests at the Republican National Convention this summer in Cleveland, and marches in major cities.

Major womens groups, including NARAL Pro-Choice America and Emilys List, are also plotting anti-Trump campaigns, in addition to pro-Clinton organizing that was in the works no matter who the Republicans nominate.
A senior Democrat who has spoken with Clinton campaign officials and others in the party in recent days said the multi-pronged strategy under review includes enlisting the Muslim, Hispanic and gay communities in an effort to paint Mr. Trump as a divisive force in American politics.

(145,107 posts)According to the last segment on Hardball the three choices are (i) ignore Trump, (ii) fight on his level and (iii) attack only on issues and substance. The first two strategies failed for Jeb! and others and so the Clinton intend to engage only on issues/substance
I like the concept of focusing on issues since Trump has no substance

(6,444 posts)I read somewhere that the problem with discussing/attacking on the issues and substance is that it makes Trump look presidential to some. As if he was on the same level as HRC. It is a win for Trump for some people. Does that make sense!?
