I am finished sitting back listening to the Bernie people.

I have been pretty silent in the past few months but I cannot do it any longer. The other side, and in this case it is the Bernie supporters, are making it clear that they won't vote for the Democrat in the general if it is not Bernie. Well, fine, give us Trump on a silver platter.

I am going to start answering these people, if they ban me so be it. This is a DEMOCRATIC website, not a BERNIE website. I have always felt they had the right to their opinion, but since they don't value mine I have a right to call foul.

I like Bernie, and if he is the nominee of the Democratic party I will support him fully to stop the Republicans. I am a DEMOCRAT!

Of my post was to ask whether its reasonable to consider anothers point of view as possibly reasonable and sensible to the person being labeled? Ive voted dem since age 18, never registered though. Does that mean im not a dem even though we probably agree on a great many issues?

I happen to think im a pretty reasonable person but if im not, who gets to decide?

A serial killer probably has reasons for getting off killing. In his mind and point of view it makes sense. So if you want to be existential then we could see everyone as having reasons that are valid for them.

Here we come to DU b/c we have some goals in mind which most of the time have the consequence of avoiding Republican Candidates and goals.

....but coming from a Democrat I cannot for the life of me see any sense in stating, "I will not vote for the Democratic nominee unless it's my choice for Democratic nominee". I also do not see any semblance of " sensible" in someone stating, "please quit bashing Bernie. That's not a good way to get someone to vote for Hillary. And by the way, FUCK HER!!" So yeah, maybe it is subjective and relative but not always in a good or sensible way.

Just don't make my mistake of posting in the Bernie group. I would follow threads from the front page and end up getting royally pissed at their idiocy and spout off, only to discover I was in their group.

They banned me, and I'm glad. But still, that's bad form.

As some have noted, they're taking their moronic arguments to other forums now to get around Skinner's attempts to get them to behave themselves. But feel free to go after them there.

2. She continues having supporters and voters
3. HRC wins some States and Delegates b/c of 1 and 2

Most HRC supporters don't mind that BS has his own version of 1, 2 and 3.
We just don't appreciate the anger they show towards us and our candidate.
If it wasn't for that anger we could coexist while backing our own respective candidates.

29. They are not Democrats
Sat Mar 19, 2016, 08:24 PM
Mar 2016

I have a good number of FB friends who are Bernie supporters, my dad is a Bernie supporter, and my sister is a volunteer for Bernie. From what I've gathered, they are not democrats. they are largely independents or former democrats who feel both parties are equally corrupt, and that a vote for either is a vote for corruption and evil.

This is a part of the republican strategy IMO.
1. Incite the Right.
2. Disenfranchise the left.

Those on the left who were disenfranchised by the ineffective government didn't go out to vote 2 years ago, because "what's the point?" Well today they have jumped on the Bernie train because he is not a democrat. They really do have no intention to vote, and they haven't voted in the past.

My father leans Bernie, but we've discussed this together. He is equally frustrated by his fellow Bernie supporters who've failed to understand that Bernie's message really isn't even about the president. Its about congress. He, at least, will fully back HRC. My sister, probably not. She didn't vote 2 years ago, and she probably won't this time either. She doesn't see any difference between republicans and democrats, and unfortunately I think she is the better representation of the Bernie movement as a whole.

Here in Florida I'm proud that we have closed primaries. All of these people left the party and allowed Rick freaking Scott to be re-elected and now they are pissed because they can't vote through their own actions. As for debating with them, or fighting them. There is no point. They post more anti-hillary memes then my republican friends, and hardly even post anything positive anymore. They are equally happy seeing the democrats get destroyed as they are the republicans. Time will tell if they can manage to get their heads out of their rears in time to make a positive impact. All hope probably lies on Bernie's own actions moving forward.

... DemocraticUnderground ceased to be a Democratic website years ago.

It is now just another political message board, where people are free to post anti-Dem rhetoric without interference.

According to the Admins, the jury system now sets "community standards", and if that "community" consists of non-Democrats - or, more to the point, anti-Democrats - it is THEY who run the board.

When I signed-up here over a decade ago, I never thought the time would arrive when I'd say, "Hey, I'm SO OLD, I remember when DU was actually a site that promoted Democrats".

What has become of this place is beyond sad.

They will never vote for Hillary. There is going to be a whole lot of unity in the real world but here at DU the chances are nil (sorry admin). You can't take it seriously because this place doesn't reflect what is actually happening. Nobody cares what they think and they don't have any power.
