Hillary Clinton
Related: About this forumWhat is wrong with Rachel Maddow?
Her style steps all over the information she is trying to share. Too fast, too high pitched, too repetitive, just too damn excitable. Hope she calms down.

(135,425 posts)To make matters worse, she looked like she's been attacked by the L'Oreal monster--she had triple eyelashes and way too much face paint.
There was a Vine of her getting all teary eyed on the web but I think MSNBC managed to get it pulled down.

(1,735 posts)Two weeks ago, it was the Berniebros throwing her under a bus, now it's the Hillary Group. She's one of the best and brightest voices we have left in the media. Perhaps the grueling schedule imposed on the MSNBC folks in this primary season. We need all the progressive media we have. Give her a break.

(135,425 posts)I had to laugh at how the BS people shit on her for doing her job.
I don't make or break my decisions based on what Rachel tells me.

(22 posts)I still kinda feel she could've spoken up more on Keith Olbermann's behalf when he was bounced unceremoniously from the network. He championed her and helped her get her own show and she sort of sat on her hands when he got railroaded. I remember her being on Air America and felt that she was angling up even then for bigger and better things at the expense of her co-hosts. Maybe it's not fair, but I really liked Keith's show, and we both lost our fathers about the same time and it was refreshing to see a big-name person talk openly about dealing with grief.
Also, her cheerleading for Sen. Sanders affects her coverage, IMO. She is often snarky when it comes to issues about Hillary, and while as a private citizen Rachel is entitled to her opinion, when she is anchoring the lead show on a network, I feel more objectivity is in order.

(24,392 posts)I generally don't tune in until she hits the 25 minute mark. Before then it's verbal masturbation.
She just had a reporter on from AZ (last name Sanders, BTW) who basically popped Rachel's Bernie bubble when she reported that Hillary's campaign has been on the ground in AZ for months with a large, disciplined staff. The reporter opined that organization was going to beat any well attended rallies of BSers. She pointed ou that many of these young, Independent Bernie fans didn't realize they had to change their party affiliation to D to vote in the AZ D primary. They will not be able to vote tomorrow, no matter how big the rally they attend.

(4,651 posts)her summary of how various Democratic presidents had tried to normalize relations with Cuba over the last 50+ years was a good backdrop to what Obama has accomplished.

(6,551 posts)She loves history and sometimes her approach to tying an historical event to the present goings-on works. But sometimes it does not. And she takes a lot of time getting to the present point. Last night was a bit frustrating in that regard.
She's clearly a Bernie fan. That's okay. I just wish it wasn't so obvious.

(10,014 posts)We have open seating at work and I'm butts and elbows with a coworker who talks high pitch gibberish most of the day. Hearing it from Maddow set me off.
That said, Maddow just did a nice piece on Obama and Cuba, although I nearly lost interest waiting for her to get to the very excellent point.

I think we should give her a little bit of space.

(9,494 posts)a grown woman crying for Bernie on national TV. She is usually so boring and now she is adding shock and depression.
I have always thought that about one in ten of her show are watchable from beginning to end. She tends to get better at election season but that show she did on the history of Republican primary...OMG.....40 minutes of snooze.
