2016 Campaign Television Tracker ~ (CLINTON GROUP)
This is an interesting website that lets you track the candidates running for POTUS in terms of their media coverage. You can use the drop down menu system to select the candidate you want to track, the date range, etc. From there, you can click on the individual date in the graph and it will bring up available media clips for the day selected.
From the website: "As part of our efforts to leverage the Internet Archive's Television News Archive for understanding the role of television in politics, we've created the following dashboard, updated each morning, that records how many times each US presidential candidate was mentioned on each of the major television networks monitored by the Archive. These are based on scanning the closed captioning records of each broadcast, so are subject to some degree of error, so absolute counts may contain a certain margin of error. The Archive enforces a 24 hour rolling delay, so the most recent date displayed is 24 hours ago. The Archive currently monitors a selection of national networks (Aljazeera America, Bloomberg, CNBC, CNN, Comedy Central, FOX Business, FOX News, LinkTV, MSNBC) and a growing set of affiliates across the country...." 2016 Campaign Television Tracker

1. Corporate M$M created Trump.
It's very interesting to be able to watch the watchers who are watching the watchers watching the watched what the watchers watching are watching...well, something like that.

2. It's really interesting to see it all laid out, isn't it?
I was looking for a listing of Bernie's March airtime, because someone in GDP had mentioned that he was being ignored, and I remembered posts in here talking about how much one on one time airtime he had had recently, and found the website in the process.
I used to talk about theatrical elements and media influence in public perception, when I was teaching a Fine Arts Gen Ed requirement course, while I was working on my MA in the late 90's. I would have LOVED to have a website like this back then to reference. Fascinating, geeky stuff! |

3. I love it when people who don't watch TV...
tell us what is on TV.
And there is a vast difference between the mentions of "Bernie's remarkable insurgency" and "Hillary's imminent arrest"! If Bernie imitates Trump-messaging for free air time - as cash gets tighter - we're going to start hearing a campaign getting even nastier! |
