(16,104 posts)It's really a presidential preference poll - regular secret ballot!
The Hawaiian Democratic politicians and superdelegates almost all go for Hillary!
Here's where we have a good chance for "Empire Strikes Back!"

(16,104 posts)4.Question: Why do you call it a Presidential Preference Poll and not a Caucus?
Answer: Because its not a caucus! The Poll has some similarities with other caucuses. The Democratic Party of Hawaii organizes and pays for the Poll. The Poll results will decide how Hawaii splits our 34 delegates to the Democratic National Convention. The polls are conducted at the local level. But unlike a caucus, the voting in Hawaii is by secret ballot.
5.Question: Why dont you call it a Primary?
Answer: Because the Primary is a separate event! The Hawaii State Primary is held August 13, 2016. The primary election is organized and paid for the State. It is also after the Democratic National Convention, so Democratic presidential candidates could not appear on the Hawaii ballot.
