Venezuelan Government Takes Justice to Communities

Venezuelan Government Takes Justice to Communities

Caracas, May 19 (Prensa Latina) The programs for people''s safety that the Venezuelan government is carrying out have a new component after the activation of the mobile itinerant courts, with the objective of speeding the attention to court cases.

President of the Supreme Court of Justice, (TSJ) Gladys Gutierrez, led today the official opening of that mechanism, as part of the plan Safe Homeland that the national government has begun to fulfill.

"At those courts the less serious criminal offenses will be judged, with sentences not exceeding 8 years imprisonment", she said.

...

The organized communities are in charge of fulfilling the sentences that those courts rule, which may go from painting schools to cleaning up squares.
