Panamanians extremely concerned about the high cost of food
Panama, May 28 (Prensa Latina) The cost of food remains the most serious and of concern among Panamanians, according to the results of the survey conducted for Ipsos Panama Review for Telemetro Reporta and La Estrella.
According to the poll released today, besides the price of the basic family food basket, the other main problems identified by citizens are security, corruption, unemployment and public transport.
For the sociologist Mark Gandásegui, Panama's problems reflected in the survey are due to how Panamanian families feel about the salaries or remuneration they receive becoming less, compared to the cost of products and services (going up).
86% of the 1,200 Panamanians surveyed by Ipsos between 17 and 20 May, placed the high cost of basic goods as the most serious problem in the country, with no other topic even coming close.... Security polled at 39% followed by corruption at 38%. Public transport came in third at 37%.
