Venezuela seizes toilet paper factory to avoid shortage

The Venezuelan government has taken over a toilet paper factory to avoid any scarcity of the product.

The National Guard has taken control of the plant, and officers will monitor production and distribution.

Earlier this year officials ordered millions of toilet rolls to be imported to counter a chronic shortage.

Last week President Nicolas Maduro created a special committee to tackle the problem, which the government blames on unscrupulous traders.

That toilet paper Factory will soon cease to operate, if recent past is a good measure.
I wonder what they will use when the country runs out of toilet paper
Which will probably happen soon, the way the Venezuelan economy is being mismanaged.
Perhaps they will have to stop eating, so as not to have need for toilet paper.

They thought that they could undermine the government by keeping the people without toilet paper. They wouldn't put it on the store shelves, import it, or make it.

And now, their ability to make more mischief is taken away...

Sic semper tyrannus!

as in the already established information the US services like the CIA have been in the business a LONG TIME of sabotaging leftist Presidential administrations in the Americas.

It's common knowledge these days, although they certainly made sure no one in the U.S. taxpayers' base was aware their tax dollars were being used to create hardship for the people of other countries in order to turn them against their elected leaders. A good f'r instance would be the filthy manipulation of trade unions, oligarchs owning businesses in Chile, the newspaper El Mercurio owned by Augustin Edwards, and his radio and tv stations, etc., (this went on for years and years, with CIA personel working IN the newspaper) as they all gleefully, and viciously applied them to the task which President Richard Milhaus Nixon ordered his CIA chief, Richard Helms, to carry out, so he could "make the economy scream."

That's right, the filthy piece of excrement told Richard Helms to "make the economy scream" which went into Helm's records and was later declassified and learned by the U.S. public.

Now, with more experience, and success under their belts, it's undoubtedly far slicker and easier for them than it was even then to do the VERY SAME THINGS anywhere else they wish.

Don't even consider trying to tell U.S. Americans about how it can happen in Venezuela when our own government already helped it to happen so very long ago in Chile, where they ran out of groceries, booze, cigarettes, household supplies, etc., etc;, etc., as trucks stopped dead in the highways, drivers walking away, supplies sat in trucks, and in boats backed up in harbors, waiting, waiting as food rotted day after day.....

and that was, as is clear, long LONG ago before they got really good at it.

10. Desperation in the opposition? I'd say it's the opposite

The fact of the matter is that any entity that has been seized (ie unrightfully taken) by the Ven. government becomes a mere shadow of its former self. It's the very reason why they haven't seized anything from Polar: they know that if they do, many essential products that the Venezuelan people consume will become very hard to find at a decent price. Especially the beer production in general in the country would decline dramatically, and let's face it, the number 1 beer consuming nation per capita in Latin America is not going to like it when beer prices skyrocket. And by seizing this toilet paper factory, who are they going to replace its staff with? Corrupt military? Untrained, unskilled manual workers who will be threatened to lose their jobs if they don't vote in favor of the PSUV? Yeah, sure sounds like the factory will be in better hands now. Not even the Guri dam, despite being completely militarized, has been well-maintained, and you got blackouts occurring throughtout the nation every so often. But nah, obviously it's all the opposition's fault, right? The government itself is composed of nothing more than the very best and most honest managers and staff in the history of the nation, so it's impossible that they're responsible for the lack of maintenance and decline in production of government-run institutions, right?

Anyone who is not a leftist who infests this message board is here to disrupt those who are leftists.

There is nothing to discuss here with people who want to discuss their own common interests.

Want to discuss how much you hate leftists? Do it on a right-wing board.

Or any love for right-wingers, even. All I've done in this message board is express my discontent with the Venezuelan government, and never attacked anyone based on their ideologies. Stop putting words in my mouth or anyone else's. I've treated everybody in this forum with respect, and it's only fair that I request the same from you and the rest of the folk here who disagree with my opinion. All you're doing by accusing anyone who does not support the Venezuelan government to automatically be a right-wing dirtbag instead of actually discussing what they posted only makes you look childish and really unwilling to debate like an adult.

Also, the fact that you already assume an opponent's ideology and start demeaning them because of that already puts you in a really bad position. Put aside the whole left-vs-right bullshit for once, and start looking at things objectively. Nothing in this world is black or white

8. Sometimes I wonder if Maduro is CIA

Nationalizing a toilet paper factory sure sounds goofy. It's as if Maduro keeps making bad moves on purpose. I suppose this is meant to find a fall guy for the shortage, but the record shows firms nationalized by the government produce less. I wonder, was this guy turned by te CIA? Or us he getting advice from the Mad Hatter?

Their solutions are pretty consistent, send in the military. I wonder if they will put NG troops in bathrooms to ensure people don't use more squares than allowed.
