Venezuela: San Cristobal mayor arrested, confirmed by Rodriguez Torres

http://www.lapatilla.com/site/2014/03/19/rodriguez-torres-confirma-orden-de-captura-a-daniel-ceballos/

Apparently they think that arresting a mayor who got elected with more than 68% of the votes in that city will have a positive outcome. This is only going to make the people of Táchira state even more enraged and will only foment more protests.

He's just turned Ceballos into a martyr.

It took less than a week for the Tribunal Supremo de Justicia to sentence him. Supposedly because he supported the "guarimbas", even though he always claimed that he never did. Also, I'd like to mention he was elected by 75% of the electorate of San Diego, the city he's mayor of, in last december's elections.

I honestly don't understand how Maduro think he's improving the situation with all this.
