Mothers in Honduras without Much to Celebrate

Tegucigalpa, May 13 (Prensa Latina) Mother's Day holds this Sunday little happiness for many women in Honduras, where crime, forced migration, malnutrition and social problems often force them to mourn for life.

This country has 86.5 murders per 100 000 inhabitants and only in the last four months reported nearly 3, 000 people killed according to the Observatory of Violence.

At the end of 2011 Honduras suffered 7, 104 murders and became the most violent nation in the world, even ahead of countries where there are wars or most drug trafficking according to the United Nations.

The monitoring of this situation in regard to young people, by humanitarian organization Casa Alianza, which suggests that among these violent deaths that occurred at an average of 18, 11 per day, there are thousands of children under 23 years old.
