Contraction in the Venezuelan economy seems to prevail over the Government's speech in people's perception.

According to a survey conducted by research firm Datanálisis, 78.3% of the population believes food supply ranges from "very bad," "bad," to "fair through bad."

Datanálisis Director José Antonio Gil Yépez has underscored that the economy is a major issue in people's mind. While 77% of the population believes the situation of the country is negative, the figure goes up when individuals are asked about the economic situation (80.9%)

In measuring the possible solutions people come up with to solve the economic crisis, the survey shows that 51% of those who were polled reckon that the Government and private businesses should agree on prices, whereas another 30% deems authorities must adopt further regulations.
