http://www.presstv.ir/detail/239488.html--------------------
Doctors and health workers in Bolivias hospitals, clinics and health centers took to the streets of the capital on Wednesday to voice their opposition against the Bolivian governments plan to increase their working time by two hours.
However, riot police attacked protesters and used tear gas and rubber bullets to drive the demonstrators back.
The protests came after the Bolivian government decided to nullify a four-decade-old law, which set the doctors workday at six hours, and a threat by President Evo Morales to replace the Bolivian doctors with Cuban physicians.
Protesters called for the resignation of the country's health minister who brought in the new law.

Evo threatens to replace Bolivian doctors with Cubans. Nice move Evo.
Video abounds of the story. In fact, this is the only written story I've seen.

(6,837 posts)1. Morales 'suspends decree on Bolivian medics'
http://www.aljazeera.com/news/americas/2012/05/20125555521159890.html
In a conciliatory move toward the thousands of striking doctors across the country, Bolivian President Evo Morales has suspended a controversial decree that extends the daily working hours of doctors by two hours, the Reuters news agency has reported.
-------------------
The decision comes after weeks of nationwide protests by health workers and students and after about 4,000 doctors
have announced a hunger strike.
-------------------
At the heart of the controversy is a measure which would require the doctors to extend shifts from six to eight hours day
without additional pay or benefits.
----------------------
Next week, Morales faces strikes by drivers and union workers who will join the ongoing protests by teachers and the medical sector over salaries and social issues.
