Protests are still being repressed and hundreds of students still keep getting jailed for merely voicing their disagreement with the government. Just the other day the son of a PSUV governor was one of the protesting students that was arrested. Obviously he was let go almost immediately because he's family of one of the untouchables. The talks will only be valid when certain conditions are met, such as when all the protesting students and political prisoners, such as Iván Simonovis, are released. Until then, though, it's just a waste of time. The Venezuelan regime is a nepotistic cleptocracy. The people in it never used to have any money, and now that they became millionaires through their positions, they sure as hell ain't gonna let go of that teat, even if they lose an election fair and square.
