UN warns about looming recession in Venezuela

In a report assessing Latin America's economic outlook, the United Nations Department of Economic and Social Affairs (UN/DESA) outlines that Venezuela is likely to fall into recession.

Inflation in the region could probably remain stable except in Argentina and Venezuela, the experts claimed in the report.

Furthermore, gross domestic product in Latin America and the Caribbean could increase by 2.6% in 2014, one point lower than forecast earlier this year. The downward revision comes in response to economic slowdown in Brazil, Argentina, and Venezuela.
