Ecuadorian Vice President In Cuba To Boost Cooperation
HAVANA, July 10 (BERNAMA-NNN-Xinhua) -- Ecuadorian Vice President Jorge Glas is now in Havana for an official visit to boost bilateral cooperation in biotechnology, state daily Granma said Wednesday.
"Ecuador is involved in a very intense industrialisation strategy as part of (government development programme) 'Living Well, ' and we are confident that we can construct that industrialisation with our Cuban brothers," Glas was quoted as saying.
Glas said the objective of his first visit to the island was to "evaluate possible exchange agreements" in biotechnology development and pharmaceutical industry, as well as agriculture and livestock.
On Wednesday, Glas visited the headquarters of Labiofam, a Cuban scientific research center for veterinary, cleaning and other products, and hold a work meeting at Cuba's Ministry of Foreign Trade and Investment.
