Venezuela: Summary of Maduro's visit to Asia - family trip at expense of more debt, and Chanel glam

SPANISH

http://www.lapatilla.com/site/2015/09/06/resumen-real-de-la-gira-presidencial-por-asia-un-viaje-en-familia-para-endeudarnos-con-glamour-chanel/

Translation:

This Sunday marks seven days of the "highly successful" tour President Nicolas Maduro embarked on to Asia. It is called "successful" according to what the presidential motorcade has given, however this has been nothing more than another trip of the president and his family combo, which of course includes the "first combatant" and his son Nicolasito.

Since arriving in Vietnam, accompanied by an extensive entourage integrated by Delcy Rodriguez, Elias Jaua, Iris Varela, among others, the Venezuelan president has been engaged in this "walk" to celebrate, with fine champagne, various agreements (so far unknown), while the tension on the Colombian-Venezuelan border increases, and not to mention the excessive crisis in domestic oil production.

The president also denounced by seventeenth time a plan to assassinate him, led (in their opinion) this time from Bogota with "the consent of the Colombian President Juan Manuel Santos".

...

Maduro's tour took him to China again, where he met for the second time in a year with his counterpart Xi Jinping, and then attended a sample of Chinese military power in a parade of more than 12,000 soldiers, 200 planes and tanks to commemorate the end of World War II.

From this stop, Venezuela became further indebted to the (Chinese) Empire. Maduro announced that China further dropped over five billion dollars to, in his words, "increase oil production"; but not before enjoying a tender family moment with the accompanying Nicolasito.

In China, Maduro and Putin reserved a space on their agenda for a meeting in which they reaffirmed their desire to strengthen Russian-Venezuelan relations and its various mechanisms of cooperation in various areas of interest. The meeting was held in the State Guest Residence in Beijing, also known as Diaoyutai.

Regarding that meeting, no images ever surfaced. Experts say that Russia has no intention of releasing some much needed green nor wanted to heed the requests of cutting oil production.

In Qatar, few understood the president's dialogue, including their presidential press, which was responsible for making public a video of his meeting with the Emir of Qatar Hamad bin Al Thani.

...

Of course, there couldn't be a lack of "Red Fashion." Surely for Cilia Flores (Maduro's wife and the "first combatant&quot a public servant's salary couldn't have been enough to afford the glamorous attire she wore in Asia.

And the century-old French fashion house Chanel, was the brand used by the "First Combatant" Cilia Flores for a purse that costs over $4,500, or 479 (monthly, not hourly) minimum wages [in Venezuela.]

That glamourous taste is apparently contagious, as Chancellor Delcy had no qualm denouncing via Twitter her Colombian counterpart Holguin, but not before trying to surpass Cilia, as she took her smartphone out of another Chanel brand purse, this time valued at $6,250.

...

Now we just need to hear what the official recount of the trip is. But it is what it is, folks: lots of Chanel, very little oil support, and the Chinese giving out some cash to keep it all in the family.

Well, all I can say is that Chávez (and surely any other prominent Marxist historical figure) is rolling in their grave now. After all, Chávez himself said "being rich is bad."

I wonder how any of the useful idiots in this forum will try to defend this.

"Oh, it's all a CIA photoshop operation!" or something of that sort, I imagine.

It's amazing how Maduro and co. are really trying to scrape the bottom of the barrel at this point. Wonder if they've already made some plans to look for asylum in Cuba or China or what-have-you after they lose in December.
