Venezuela Seizes 211 Kilos of Cocaine
Caracas, Ago 1 (Prensa Latina) Venezuelan authorities today seized 211 Kilos of cocaine in the state of Amazonas traveling from Colombia to Central America.

According to the deputy minister of the Integrated Criminal Investigation, Hugo Armando Carvajal, officials assigned to the Investigations Division Against Drugs and CICPC regional office in Amazonas, managed to apprehend a person during the operation.
The detainee was identified as Fabio Antonio Morales, who at the time of his capture was carrying two ID cards from Venezuela and Colombia. According to official sources, the government of Hugo Chavez has arrested 88 drug traffickers in seven years and seized over 635 tons of narcotics since 1999, as part of the fight against drug trafficking.
The country, described by the United Nations in the top five with successful policies to confront this evil, has signed 52 agreements with 38 nations, and maintains joint committees working with Italy, Guyana, Ecuador, Dominican Republic, Mexico, Portugal, Colombia and Bolivia.
