Argentina's Parliament Members Condemn Arrest of Venezuelan Official

Argentina's Parliament Members Condemn Arrest of Venezuelan Official

Buenos Aires, Oct 7 (Prensa Latina) Argentina's Parliamentary Friendship Group strongly condemned today the arrest of Venezuelan Ombudsman Tarek William Saab by Interpol agents in Mexico.
Leader of the group Carolina Gaillard said this is "another maneuver of the United States to discredit Nicolás Maduro's lawful government".

On behalf of the group, Gaillard presented the draft of a declaration to express their condemnation to Saab's "illegal and arbitrary arrest" in an airport in Mexico last October 3rd. The document is signed by another 11 national deputies.

"Before it was drug trafficking, now it is human rights. If someone has to give any explanations about the full realization of human rights is the United States, not us: Latin American is a region of peace. We are not the ones promoting the war", she stressed.

"This is the modus operandi used by the United States to force the governments that do not comply with its policies", the lawmaker added.
