Argentina Teachers Union to Join National Struggle Protest

Buenos Aires, Nov 2 (Prensa Latina) The Confederation of Education Workers of Argentina (Ctera) closed ranks today with the national struggle protest to be held next Friday in which several sectors will demand the government, among other measures, the urgent opening of salary negotiations.

Enough dismissals and taxes on profits to salaries, says the teachers' summons that claim also for a law of educational financing and the continuity of national socioeducational programs.

The teachers union will join a rally headed by the two biggest trade unions of the country, that plan several protests, cease of activities and mobilizations, as they have been doing for months when the layoff wave and the rocketing of prices began due to the economic adjustment measures of the present government.

. . .

The protest rallies add ever more sectors with a social dissatisfaction due to the adjustment and the layoffs.
