What is the point discussing Castro & Cuba here? Few have been there, fewer know anything about it.

So many DU Cuba "experts". So little actual knowledge.

Best wishes to the good and decent people in Cuba. May you fare well facing so much bigotry and hate from your northern neighbor.

1. Well, you can ask what the point is of many other discussions here...

when maybe half of the the posters have no idea what they are talking about.

Some of us might learn something after digging through the misguided opinions.

4. Ask em when they were there? When/where did they study Cuban politics?

There's only VERY few, and only one (that has mentioned it, if they have) who has lived there.

2. So much wrong with this thread.

"I am the way and the light" and "All you bums know nothing" isn't really a swift way to open up a discussion. The May Day parade pic (in a country where forced fun is mandatory if you want to keep your job) is an especially amusing touch.

I think we'll discuss Cuba until we're tired of it--even if it doesn't meet your standards.

3. I imply no such thing. That's your own projection.

I've been here since the beginning, and have seen more wallowing in foolish ignorance than could fill a five pound bag.

Reading the comments and threads on F. Castro's death affirms it. Your post included.

Nice to know just what you think of your fellow DUers.

And you most certainly "imply no such thing." There's no implication there at all--you come right out and say it.

I got news for you--your days of propping up that murderous ass and his failed state are coming to an end. Enjoy!

As your posts make clear. At least I just come out and say it ... most DUers know jack shit about Cuba... yet, so many experts.

Have a nice day.

9. It's really odd, isn't it? I just finished reading the thread in LBN for the 2nd time.

I only saw it much earlier.

Comments do show the trolls couldn't be dragged away by wild horses from loudly, belligerently burbling their recycled grade school propaganda. It's a life or death situation for them that they reiterate the right-wing commie-hatin' crappola, relentlessly, as if it's never been said before since the people's revolution.

Cuba WAS controlled by the US gov't, wealthy US politicians, "bidnessmen", even the US Mafia, OF COURSE, and their toadies who wormed their way into power with US support in Cuba. People like filthy, brutal, corrupt, torture, butchering, terrorizing, evil Batista pal, ranch and newspaper owner, and Senator, Rolando Masferrer's death squad, Masferrer's Tigres.

After the Revolution, this monster landed in Miami, brutalized enemies there, and got blown up by C-4 in his car for his trouble. What a great bunch of folks our rich politicians loved in Cuba.

I totally agree with you, Mika.

It's not worth the trouble because the trolls will never bother taking the time to do the necessary research to know anything actual about Cuba, and they are posting to try to keep the 50's intact, and get everyone to leave his/her brain back in grade school, with them, so they won't feel so absurd in their adulthood. It's damned hard to keep their brains in that new car condition, keeping them absolutely pristine, unused, unworn, brand spanking new! No folds, no creases, slick and ready for a brain transplant to someone who wants to learn a lot!

11. Watching DU "liberals" grave dancing to the tune of ignorance is very unbecoming.

It's like a Calle Ocho street rally in front of the Versailles - so many posters here would feel right at home, considering the hateful swill posted here. (Does anyone remember that these cretins celebrating death are the same cretins burning US flags and calling Clinton and Reno "Nazis" for rescuing Elian Gonzales?)

Seeing the regurgitation "Castro did this, Castro did that" is wallowing neck deep in shit.

I hate to break it to the ignoramuses... Cubans run Cuba. They have a democratic system, and will continue to improve upon it.

Viva Cuba!

13. I think they must all stay drunk to keep themselves from thinking.

Common intelligence would have already led them toward the light, years ago.

They are keeping themselves frozen in time, in the condition people shared right after the revolution when all US citizens "knew" was handed to them through the propagandists.

I have wondered how they were going to grasp what they were experiencing when they went to Cuba after spending their lives living with such freaky lies. It appeared the US Gov't had painted itself into a corner, and left no way out to explain what had happened, when ordinary US Cuba travelers started asking WTF when they got back from Cuba! So weird.

Can't wait to see Cubans actually have a real democracy where they don't have to live under the oppression of one party/family
