US citizens traveling to Venezuela will have to pay USD 30 for a tourist visa, according to a regulation released on the website of the Venezuelan Embassy to the United States, which lists the requirements applicants must fulfill to obtain the visa to visit the South American country.
Additionally, the tourist visa will be valid for one year, including multiple entries. The duration of a visit will be limited to a maximum of 90 days.
The visa must be requested three months before the expected travel date.
This requirement was announced by Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro on February 28 as part of the measures adopted by his government, including an 80% cut in the US Embassy staff in Caracas.
