Linera: Chilean Invasion is a Historic Insult to Bolivia

Linera: Chilean Invasion is a Historic Insult to Bolivia

La Paz, Feb 15 (Prensa Latina) Bolivian acting President Álvaro García Linera described today the Chilean invasion to Bolivia in 1879 as a historical insult.

The statement came as a response to a Twit of the Chilean Foreign Minister Heraldo Muñoz, who described as aggressive a message from President Evo Morales on the military action that deprived Bolivia of its sovereign access to the Pacific Ocean.

'We are not the invaders, we have never touched a millimeter of Chilean territory,' he said during a meeting with the press at the Government Palace.

According to the acting president, Chile's invasion to Bolivia stands as one of the greatest abuses in the continent's history as it is an aggression against a sister nation to take away its belongings.
