Ecuador Shows Investment Works

Ecuador Shows Investment Works
JUL Sunday 9TH 2017

RAFAEL CORREA recently ended his time as president of Ecuador; his 10 years as leader have been marked by some outstanding achievements, which should be noted internationally by all progressives.

In a break from the neoliberal policies of the past, in the last decade Ecuador invested massively in free healthcare and free university education.

Programmes were developed to reduce poverty and measures were taken to combat tax evasion, reduce capital flight and protect the environment from plundering by multinational corporations.

The media was democratised, with new TV and radio stations giving a voice to previously oppressed groups and minorities.

before Sun Myung Moon, George H W Bush's friend acquired it, told us before Rafael Correa was ever elected that Ecuador used to be a wreck, had tons of Presidents in a short period of time.

I saw in this article what he had mentioned years ago, which was still mind-boggling to see:

The political stability of Correa’s era contrasts sharply with the previous 10 years, during which Ecuador had eight different presidents, and shows that the left cannot only win and be popular but transform society through investing in our future.

Crazy, isn't it? His first opponent was the wealthiest banana grower in Ecuador, Álvaro Noboa. He even gave sewing machines to poor women to encourage them to vote for him, and his campaign color was bright yellow to remind everyone he was the country's fat cat rich guy. Damned creepy! It was so good to see him lose.

Álvaro Noboa

I absolutely hope, as you do, that the right-wing cannot destroy what good has been done for the human race during the time a man of character worked to help the country as the President. That takes real courage, realizing what the odds are you'll be assassinated if you are a leftist in Latin America.

In time, the left WILL repair the destruction of the land, the animals, water, and the wildly abused and hated people of color, indigenous people, and all people of REAL value.
