Are Colombias FARC dissidents moving into Ecuador?

https://colombiareports.com/are-colombias-farc-dissidents-moving-into-ecuador/

Ecuador said Tuesday that a rogue guerrilla group from Colombia has carried out more than six attacks on security forces in the neighboring country this year.

The governments of Colombia and Ecuador agreed to convene the Binational Border Commission to discuss measures to curb violence in the border region after three soldiers were killed and seven injured on Tuesday.

Narc or FARC?

Hundreds of former militia members of the FARC, the Colombian guerrilla group that demobilized 14,000 people last year, are suspected of controlling the border area after being blocked from a peace process.

A dissident faction under the command of “Guacho,” an Ecuadorean citizen, allegedly controls most drug trafficking rackets in the strategic area and is attacking authorities on both sides of the border.

decimated a whole bunch of FARC in Ecuadorian territory (leading to the capture of very sensitive computer information) some years ago. Ecuador is prime target for the FARC to re-arm and re-group.

...to no avail. Nobody believes they have disarmed and disavowed violence. (FARC politicians routinely get pelted by eggs and rotting vegetables when speaking to the voters they used to murder.) As a matter of fact, the vast majority of "former" FARC Marxist/Leninist militants have morphed into the ELN... the Marxist/Leninist terrorist organization that has taken up where FARC left off.

Nothing has changed. Just a rebranding. They couldn't draw enough votes in the election last week to get a legitimate candidate elected to the Colombian assembly
