In a statement to Brazil's Federal Police given on March 28 and still under secrecy, police officer Abel de Queiroz said that he went to the office of lawyer José Yunes at least twice to deliver money between 2013 and 2015. Yunes is a close friend of President Michel Temer.
Queiroz worked as a driver for Transnacional, a cash-in-transit company hired by companies targeted by the Lava Jato operation.
He testified as a witness in the investigation of transactions made by construction company Odebrecht to political party MDB totaling R$ 10 million (US$ 2.8 million) - President Temer supposedly participated in the negotiations of these transactions in 2014.
Queiroz says that he drove the armored car and other agents took the money to the office.
His statement confirms the accusation of the Public Prosecutor's Office against Yunes. Yunes is accused of working as a collector of illegal resources for President Temer in more than one occasion.
