Colombia largely rejects Duque half a year after electing him president: Gallup
by Billy Wallace December 14, 2018
The disapproval rating of Colombias president Ivan Duque has reached 64%, less than half a year after he was elected president, according to pollster Gallup.
According to Gallup, Duques approval rating plummeted from 47% in October to 29% this month, confirming others polls that have estimated the presidents approval rating between 22% and 30%.
Pollster Guarumo said the presidents approval rating was 48.5% last month, but was almost immediately discredited after media revealed its founder had been hired by the Duque administration.
. . .
Can Duque recover?
The almost immediate collapse of Duques approval rating is unprecedented in Gallups history. Former presidents Andres Pastrana and Juan Manuel Santos also hit approval ratings below 30%, but not within half a year of their election.
